Body and Mind

The connection with mental health, what you put into your mouth, what you do with your body, and physical diseases and limitations and pain- all are connected. It really is low hanging fruit, to care for the things you can. Some condition and diseases can look like mental health issues. Most Mental Health Clinicians are ready to blame Depression or anxiety first, then some find out it was physical, maybe something serious, and the condition was trying to tell them something.

I have had clients with low Thyroid, get it addressed, then call me a bit later, after their meds for thyroid are working and say:”I don’t need you anymore Brian. Bye. (a happy day for both of us. I love it when clients get better).

As far as I can tell from the therapy room. Low Thyroid and Depression have the exact same symptoms.

The body is complicated. Psychology is complicated. A diabetic under stress can have fatigue and brain fog and low nergy and irritability— and of course that does not make the stress go away.

So, I’m saying the obvious: set healthy routines, and get regular checkups. Don’t touch bases with me first. If you haven’t seen your medical doctor for annual or regular checkups, set the appointment today. And if you’re feeling depressed, tell them so. They can’t do their job well without your support.
